It’s that time of year again. Due to frost going out we are closing roads to heavy equipment, large trucks etc. to protect the roads. we will post when it is OK to allow these once soil stabilizes.
Garbage dumpster will be in same location at south end of island as in prior years. There will be no garbage pick up at individual residences.

Road embargo will be lifted on Sunday night, April 28th, 2013. Hawkeye Sanitation will pick up garbage and dumpsters on Monday, April 29th and will resume normal pickup up on April 29th, 2013
We have now found soft spots in back road. Effective today back road will be closed. Trash dumpster will be at south end of Island as in previous years. No heavy tucks or equipment on roads till further notice.

It appears that the post did not correctly go out to everyone last week so here it is again in case you missed it
Spring is near and As frost has started to go out the roads have become soft. To protect the roads as in past years we are asking that heavy trucks, construction equipment, etc. stay off roads until further notice. Please notify any Contractors that you are using.
Trash dumpster will be placed Thursday or Friday this week at south end of Island in same location as prior years. You will need to take your trash to that location as we have asked trash company to stay off roads as well.

FYI for anyone who has not been up recently the ice is already out of the river.
Per the Guttenberg Paper Hawkeye Sanitation will pick up on Monday (even Though it is the holiday) .Probably very early in the Morning. We would recommend putting out on Sunday night as they came about 6:00am on the 4th of July.

Batteries will be accepted at no charge.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:
Fence posts, wire, rock, concrete, yard waste or toxic waste.
No garbage from outside City Limits.
Demolition, construction and reconstruction will be handled at the discretion of Hawkeye Sanitation, Inc.
Please have all items at curbside by7:00 A.M. the morning of Sept 14th.
