ESMANN ISLAND OWNER’S ASSOCIATION

BOARD MEETING

09-17-11 

Board Members Present:  Dave Wagner called the regular meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. with Mike Shaffer, Jim McGuire, Ken Brandel and Don Niosi in attendance, Dottie Reimer, secretary. Donna Gilkes, treasurer. 

Members Present:  Bob Gilkes, Larry Brown, Cletus Davis, Mary Davis, LaDonna Nagel, Mert Duffy, Ken Schmerbach, Richard Staab, Jeff Heising, Tom Nagel, Robin Heising. 

Minutes:  Reviewed minutes from August 20th, 2011 meeting, Motion to approve 1st Shaffer; 2nd by Brandel, motion approved. 

Treasures Report:   Motion to approve treasurer’s report, 1st McGuire; 2nd by Shaffer, motion approved. 

Bills:  Current bills presented and reviewed.  Board approved sending yearly donation to Guttenberg Fire Department.  Motion to approve for payment, 1st by Brandel, 2nd Niosi, motion approved. 

Building Permits:   One (1) Dan and Ann Schulte, Lot 102-2 

Property Ownership Changes:    None 

Road Report:

  • Ken Brandel reported they are working on bad spots in roads, may need to put off until Spring because of colder weather.
  • Spoke to owners of Railroad at entrance to Island, they will come and look at crossing and get back to Ken with their decision to repair.
  • Tom Nagel stated he has some rock he is not using and asked if he can get permission to dump at North boat ramp.  Board gave approval. 

Old Business:  

  • Snow removal this year will continue with Nick Hoffman.  We have 2 years left on our contract.  Discussion held on some concerns from residents the roads were not cleaned and cleared enough.  Ken Brandel will speak to Nick with our concerns.
  • Received another bid for snow removal.  Will keep on file.
  • Fall cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, September 26th 2011. Notices are posted on bulletin board and office door.  

New Business: 

  • Several residents aired their concerns over weeds and tall grasses growing out of control on vacant lots on Esmann Island.  Motion to send letter to owner giving them 15 days to have this taken care of.
  • NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS:  Several of your neighbors have noticed their Freon has been taken from their air conditioners.  If you notice yours has been tampered with, please contact the Clayton County Sheriff’s department or the local Guttenberg police department. 

Next meeting set for Saturday, October 8th at 8:30 a.m.
